Choice Systems, Inc. Announces New Version of Materials Management System for Healthcare Industry

Choice Systems, Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky, has announced the release of version 3.1 of Choice Dimension21®, a complete materials management package designed specifically for the healthcare industry. An entirely new, Windows-based system, Choice Dimension21® is a “best of breed” application, the culmination of over ten years invested in building materials management systems for hundreds of customers in the healthcare industry. Choice Dimension21® automates purchasing and inventory management by generating and sending a purchase order to a supplier when minimum product levels are reached. The PO uses the most updated prices and contains all relevant information regarding quantity, shipping, location and billing. The program communicates via EDI (electronic data interchange) to and from hundreds of trading partners for POs, confirmations, invoices, and product catalogs. Choice Dimension21® can support ANSI X.12 standards and purchasing transaction sets such as ANSI 832, ANSI 850, ANSI 810, to name a few. Choice Dimension21® offers data setup and maintenance displays for managing Product Catalogs, vendors and facility settings. Users are able to create a multi-vendor, multi-product catalog with all vendor information completely organized for ordering and handling. The product is flexible and user-friendly and encompasses all vendors and products, not tying users to specific vendors. Choice Dimension21® provides detailed, in-depth financial tracking information and interfaces with virtually all commercial accounting packages. The program supports major accounting methods such as LIFO, FIFO and Average Cost. It also supports JIT, Scheduling, and Bar-coding. The “Transfers Package” records to the Transfer Journal the complete audit trail of all product Quantity On Hand (QOH) movement from receipts, returns, and inventory adjustments to usage and transfers. The Journal also allows products to be manually transferred from one location to another or returned from a location to a vendor. Choice Dimension21® supports all recognized numbering and bar-coding systems. Users can locate a product via an internal ID number, universal product number (UPN) system, a vendor product code, a manufacturing product ID, a national drug code (NDC) or many others, including user-defined IDs. Choice Dimension21® underwent rigorous modes of testing, with over 1,700 hours spent on Quality Assurance.
