Associate Access

HIPAA Privacy Rule Effective - As of April 14, all healthcare providers, clearinghouses and most payors must take measures to protect individually identifiable health information as mandated by the HIPAA Privacy Rule. Business associates of covered entities also must be prepared to safeguard protected health information.

Choice HIPAA Readiness

Choice is proactively working with covered entities and third-party business partners.  In addition, we are issuing confidentiality agreements with our various vendors and service providers.

Privacy

Choice has enabled its products where necessary to meet the required level of HIPAA-readiness for privacy-related features. The HIPAA-enabled releases are generally available and include the following enhancements:

Security

Choice's security focus to date has centered on HIPAA Privacy & Security compliance. Our system(s) breakdown follows:

bullet Software in and of itself can not be considered "totally" compliant
bullet Choice is proactively working a very aggressive HIPAA awareness program, where policies and procedures are being created, trained, and implemented
bullet Choice has sent all customers (proactively) Business Associate Agreements
bullet Choice is ready to send our Third-Party agreements when our legal department completes the documentation
bullet Choice is ready to send our Confidentiality agreements when our legal department completes the documentation
bullet Choice IntelliOrder® with customer usage has not yet been deployed
bullet Choice IntelliOrder® is password and "rights" protected
bullet Choice IntelliOrder® has a built-in time out feature that is within the HIPAA suggested guidelines
bullet Choice Dimension21® is password and "rights" protected
bullet Choice Dimension21® typically resides on customer owned and managed systems - thus making them responsible for data access and security as well as HIPAA training for staff
bullet Choice ECHO® is password and "rights" protected
bullet Choice ECHO® typically resides on customer owned and managed systems - thus making them responsible for data access and security as well as HIPAA training for staff
bullet Choice RSVP® is password and "rights" protected
bullet Choice RSVP® typically resides on customer owned and managed systems - thus making them responsible for data access and security as well as HIPAA training for staff

HIPAA Education

Choice has teamed with ISM, a third-party vendor that offers HIPAA privacy and security audit, training services, and benchmarks.
